Why did you join Refugees Forward?

I joined Refugees Forward because this is amazing chance to learn about business processes in the Netherlands, which I’m interested in. It’s an opportunity for networking and to be part of an educated community of entrepreneurs. I have a big goal and desire to improve my skills, so I need to learn more about business studies. I want to integrate myself and become a part of the Dutch social system as a professional.

Could you tell us a bit about your background and what project you are going to be working on?

I studied international relations and diplomacy in the Far Easten University, in Russia, where I’m originally from. After graduating, I eventually found myself working in video/media production, and ended up working with the main Russian TV channels and TV production companies. For the last 5 years I worked as a producer/director/camera operator and editor in UAE, Japan, Indonesia and Thailand. During this time I established my own non-official media production company – Mad Way Films. I’ve also worked with international film festivals and documentary projects. During the program I want to establish a business that will allow me to use my videography and media promotion skills to be involved in media industry in Netherlands.

What would you like to learn over the course of the program?

I would love to learn more about business processes in the Netherlands and about the Dutch community. I’d also like to improve my business skills and be integrated in media fields in Amsterdam.

Where do you see yourself in 2 years?

In two years I’d like to be a successful specialist with a recognised name. I’d also like to have a media crew of my own, as well as friends and family.
